Job Title: Sr. Engineer
Location: Juncos, PR (100% onsite, 2nd shift)
Eligibility: Open to U.S. Citizens who are local to Puerto Rico
Positions Available: 1
Duration: Approximately 11 months
Work Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 2nd shift
Summary
The Sr. Engineer will independently provide and oversee the characterization of process optimization strategies and/or troubleshooting of operational issues in a manufacturing, pilot plant, or capital projects environment. This role applies advanced and diverse engineering principles to the design and implementation of significant system modifications, experiments, processes, and/or capital projects. The individual will develop, organize, analyze, and present interpretations of results for operational issues or engineering projects of substantial scope and complexity.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- Doctorate degree, or
- Master's degree and 3 years of engineering experience, or
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the packaging area
- Troubleshooting basics in automation and Vision Systems
- Bilingual technical writing skills (English and Spanish)
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes
- Familiarity with validation processes and documentation in a highly regulated environment
- Proficiency with specialized laboratory equipment and computer systems
- Understanding and application of GLPs and GMPs
- Ability to develop solutions for routine technical problems

Functions and Responsibilities
General:
- Complete complex assignments requiring the development of advanced engineering techniques and procedures.
- Develop engineering policies and procedures impacting multiple organizational units.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of a small team of engineers, associates, and/or technicians.
- Apply advanced engineering knowledge across various disciplines and related fields.
- Act as a recognized specialist in at least one area of engineering technology.
Design Engineering:
- Develop innovative technical solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (research, manufacturing, process development, utilities, facilities, QA, and validation) to develop requirements and recommendations for large-scale system or facility modifications.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure design and engineering projects are completed within scope, budget, and quality constraints.
- Oversee consultants, architects, and engineering firms in developing standard design documents.
- Develop departmental and project budgets for multi-disciplinary areas within larger projects.
Other functions may be assigned as needed.
