Job Title: Senior Engineer (3127296)

Location: East of Puerto Rico (Open for Puerto Rico Residents)

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite, Administrative Shift

Positions Available: 1

Duration: Approximately Nine Months


Job Summary

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead and support process optimization strategies, troubleshoot operational challenges, and implement major system modifications within a regulated manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will apply advanced engineering principles to oversee capital projects, analyze complex operational issues, and drive innovative engineering solutions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in engineering field operations and supervising contractors.
  • Proficiency in tools and technologies for:
  • Creating presentations
  • Preparing project schedules
  • Sharing status updates with teams
  • Expertise in conducting inspections of equipment, structures, and piping to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Strong project lifecycle management skills, including identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
  • Strong organizational and tracking abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and equipment drawings/isometrics.
  • No restrictions on performing inspections and walkdowns at various heights.


Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Complete complex assignments requiring new or enhanced engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Develop engineering policies and procedures impacting multiple organizational units.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review work performed by engineers, associates, and technicians.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles and modifications to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to address challenges across multiple disciplines.
  • Act as a recognized specialist in at least one engineering technology domain.
  • Lead and manage planning and execution of major projects.
  • Additional functions may be assigned as required.


Design Engineering

  • Develop innovative technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
  • Collaborate with research, manufacturing, process development, utilities, facilities, quality assurance, and validation teams to define requirements and recommendations for system and facility modifications.
  • Ensure design and engineering projects meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate work with consultants, architects, and engineering firms to develop standard design documents.
  • Manage departmental or project budgets spanning multiple engineering disciplines.


Education Requirements

  • Doctorate in Engineering OR
  • Master’s Degree + 2 years of engineering experience OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering + 4 years of engineering experience


Competencies & Required Skills

  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech Process Knowledge
  • Familiarity with validation processes and regulated documentation
  • Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment and computers
  • Knowledge of GLP and GMP regulations
  • Application of engineering science to production
  • Strong problem-solving abilities for technical challenges
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in technical report writing
  • Ability to execute validation protocols

  • Development of validation protocols
