Summary
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Production Planner to support planning activities related to demand and supply requirements. The successful candidate will operate under minimal supervision and play a key role in production planning, communication with suppliers, and data analysis to support manufacturing operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing requisitions and PO conversions using SAP reports
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in Raw Materials Planning
- Experience using SAP for planning functions
- Familiarity with Rapid Response (nice to have)
- Strong supplier management skills, including:
- Tracking PO delivery timelines and escalations
- Managing past due or missed orders
- Addressing PO quantity discrepancies and closing balances
- Coordinating missing documentation (e.g., COAs, packing lists)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience participating in cross-functional projects
- Familiarity with Smartsheet and reporting tools for metric tracking (nice to have)
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, consolidate, and report demand to stakeholders
- Develop multiple planning scenarios to support long-range planning and capacity analysis
- Maintain strong communication with demand sources
- Use planning expertise to influence and optimize the demand planning process
- Track and analyze monthly performance metrics to improve output quality
- Create and maintain monthly planning models, applying inventory control and process development techniques
- Expedite product releases to mitigate inventory shortages through effective communication
- Represent the planning function in product and operations development teams to ensure manufacturability and production efficiency
- Provide training and support to internal departments on planning processes and tools
- Educate cross-functional partners on planning and decision-making processes to improve collaboration
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities within business and logistics processes
- Mentor and guide junior planners to enhance departmental performance
- Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as directed by management
🎓 Education Requirements
- Doctorate OR
- Master’s Degree + 2 years of directly related experience OR
- Bachelor’s Degree + 4 years of directly related experience OR
- Associate Degree + 8 years of directly related experience OR
- High School Diploma / GED + 10 years of directly related experience
Competencies & Skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experienced in developing and managing spreadsheets and schedules
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
