Position Overview:

As a Microbiologist in the Bio Laboratory Manufacturing environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of microbiological testing to support manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on position requiring a solid understanding of microbiology, environmental monitoring, and regulatory requirements. Your contributions will ensure the integrity of our client's lab operations and their adherence to industry standards. 🌱🔬


Position Requirements:

🎓 Education:

  • B.S. in Microbiology or Biological Sciences required.

📈 Experience:

  • 0-4 years of experience in microbiology, with previous pharmaceutical experience desired.


Key Responsibilities:


Microbiology & Environmental Monitoring:

  • Compile and interpret results from microbiology and environmental monitoring tests.
  • Maintain, clean, and sterilize laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Perform water sampling (DI water, WFI, steam) and sterility testing of finished products.
  • Conduct bioburden testing on raw materials, WFI, and bulk products.
  • Perform bacterial endotoxin testing, sterility testing, and growth promotion testing.


Testing & Documentation:

  • Subculture and characterize microbial isolates using Gram staining and other differential tests.
  • Prepare technical reports, graphs, and charts to document experimental results.
  • Conduct peer review of results, investigations, and protocols.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with cGMP standards.


Laboratory Operations:

  • Operate and maintain lab equipment, including incubators, autoclaves, and ovens.
  • Assist with equipment qualifications, validations, and audits.
  • Perform bacteriostasis/fungi stasis testing and incubate/read media fills.
  • Prepare and assist with FDA and customer audits.


Skills & Knowledge:

🧮 Mathematical Proficiency: Demonstrated intermediate mathematical skills.

🔍 Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and testing.

🛠️ Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of lab equipment functionality.

💬 Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with experience interacting with internal teams and external suppliers.

💻 Technical Skills: Proficiency in business software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.

🧠 Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively.

🤝 Team Player: Works well in collaborative environments and under pressure.
